This meaningful Shad Derby Blood Drive is sponsored by the Windsor Chamber of Commerce each year as part of the Windsor Shad Derby Festivities.
Many generous Americans nationwide have been donating blood since the terrorist attacks September 11 to ensure a sustained and secure blood supply for all Americans. Shad Derby Live Theatre Nights
This new live performance event associated with the Shad Derby Festival will be held on May 4,5,10,11 & 12, 2018. All performance times will be at 7pm at the L. P. Wilson Community Center, 599 Matianuck Avenue, Windsor, Connecticut.

This Inaugural Shad Derby Festival event is co-sponsored by the Windsor Jesters & Win-TV . This year's play called The Wedding Binder is a humorous take on the pitfalls of planning the “perfect” wedding by local playwright, Jacques Lamarre.

The Shad, once called the 'Poor Man's Salmon', have returned to Windsor every year to lay their eggs and start a new generation. Fishing has always been an important part of our history, and it is only fitting that we continue to preserve this tradition, and do our part to conserve and protect the lands under our guardianship. So, as they say just before the first light of dawn, 'Let's go fishing, there's plenty of time to sleep later!'

Rabies Vaccination Clinic

The Windsor Animal Control Officer will be hosting a Rabies Vaccination Clinic at the Windsor Firehouse, 340 Bloomfield Avenue on May 5, 2018 from 1pm to 3pm (entrance is behind the firehouse). Prior certificate (not tags) must be presented to qualify for a three year certificate. Otherwise, a one year certificate will be given. Residency is not required. $15, cash only. For everyone's safety, all dogs must be on a leash and cats must be created. Age: Animals must be 3 months or older.

Movie Under The Stars Night
This family fun free 2018 Shad Derby event is sponsored by the Town of Windsor Recreation Department. The outdoor movie will take place on Friday, May 4, 2018 at the L.P. Wilson Community Center from 8:15 PM to 10:00 PM. The movie will be shown on our 22-foot portable inflatable screen.

This year's family friendly movie feature is Jumanji

Admission to the movie is FREE.

Blankets, flashlights and lawn chairs are encouraged. Snacks and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Pack a picnic, grab a blanket and take the whole family to enjoy a great outdoor movie experience.

Deborah Leonard enjoys plein air painting as well as studio work. She is past president of Avon Arts Association and past vice president of the Connecticut Plein Air Painters Society. The 53rd Annual Shad Derby Coronation Ball, being held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, May 5th, 2018 at the Hartford / Windsor Marriott. This Shad Derby event is hosted by the Windsor Junior Woman's Club under the direction of the Shad Derby Committee.

This long standing Shad Derby event is the last night of judging for the Shad Derby Queen Candidates, and before the evening ends the Shad Derby Queen and her court will be announced.
