Valentine’s For Veterans Project - Youth and their families are invited create Valentine’s Day cards for veterans at 330 Windsor Avenue Community Center on Monday, February 5, 2017 from 6:00-7:30pm. This is a great way to remember our veterans! Cards will be distributed to local veterans’ organizations for Valentine’s Day. Our goal is to collect over 100 cards! This activity can be a teachable moment for youth to learn who veterans are and why they are so important to our community. We are kicking off Black History Month on Friday, February 2nd at 6:00 pm with a FREE movie entitled “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks”, which features Oprah Winfrey. Friday Night Lights
Friday Night Lights is social group designed especially for those 18 and older, with developmental/cognitive disabilities. Due to the nature of this program participants must be independent in feeding and toileting. Participants will be involved in various recreational activities, enjoy video games, air hockey, table tennis, TV, pool table, food and so much more once a month to help promote socialization and vocational skills. The program will meet the first Friday of each month from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Teen Zone, located at the Community Center at 330 Windsor Avenue. Register online

for 2018 Summer Nature Camp


Registration begins Thursday, February 1st at 8:00 A.M. for the Northwest Park Junior Counselor Certification Program. All Junior Counselors ages 14 – 17 interested in the 2018 Summer Nature Camp must attend a workshop at Northwest Park on Thursday, April 12th from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
