Zion Church is sponsoring Windsor’s Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration with a video presentation that will air on WIN-TV (Comcast channel 5, Frontier Channel 6102) on Monday, January 17, 2022 starting at 2:00p.m. It will also be available to view on WIN-TV’s YouTube Channel beginning Monday, January 17th. Join long time Society member and researcher Al Boehm for the fascinating story of how changes in the British royal government and the historic Charter Oak incident shaped Windsor’s 17th-century development and doubled the town’s buildable land.

This virtual program is presented in two parts via Zoom on consecutive Thursdays, January 20 and January 27 from 7 to 8 PM.

Kimberly Hall North hosts an Alzheimer's Support Group for anyone taking care of a loved one with Alzheimer's or a related dementia or if you would like to learn more about the disease. The group is open to both members of the community or those who have loved ones at Kimberly Hall.

Kate Bartelmo, is the support group leader she is a MSW, Certified Dementia Practitioner and has been running a support group for over 10 years. The group is affiliated with The Alzheimer's Association.

Valentines for Veterans
Drop off your homemade Valentine’s for Veterans no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, January 28th and we’ll make sure the cards get distributed to local Veterans’ organizations for Valentine’s Day. This activity can be a teachable moment for youth to learn who veterans are and why they are so important to our community. Cards must be dropped off at L.P. Wilson Community Center by 5:00 PM. 860-285-1946.

Artist-in-Residence Live Demo
Brad Robinson, Windsor Library's Artist-in-Residence for January, will be at the library giving a live demonstration in mobile sculptures. Watch Brad create art in real time, ask questions as it develops, revel in the process. Meet Brad at his Artist Reception held on Saturday, January 8, from 2:00 - 4:00pm.

Live art at the library has returned; local artists working in a variety of mediums are invited to set up their workspace in the main library lobby and offer patrons the unique opportunity to experience art as it is being created.

Voices Against Lyme Disease a 501(c)3, based in Windsor, CT is continuing their Support Group for those with a tickborne illness or a family member and friends. This group meets on the first and third Saturday of every month and is free to anyone wishing to join us. We use strict COVID 19 guidelines for our meetings. In addition, to support discussions we also provide up to date research information on tick borne illnesses, awareness and prevention.
