Enjoy the holiday lights, trees and inflatables with Santa and his little helpers outside of L.P. Wilson Community Center. Take the opportunity before Santa leaves for the North Pole. Bring your own camera for a free picture with Santa. Work on an arts & crafts project in Santa’s Workshop, see special captions of one of the holiday classics Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer on the tennis courts. There will be hot cocoa and donuts. This event is entirely outdoors and free to attend.

Affordable Housing Public Workshop
At the conclusion of its regularly scheduled meeting on December 14th at 7:00 pm in Town Hall, the Town Planning and Zoning Commission (TPZC) will hold a public workshop to kick-off the preparation of a state mandated affordable housing plan for Windsor. The workshop will include a brief presentation on affordable housing law and the current state of housing affordability in Windsor before opening the discussion to the public to answer questions, hear concerns, and begin developing strategies to address long-term affordability.

Order a Veterans Wreath by December 10th
Carmon Community Funeral Homes of Windsor and Windsor’s American Legion Gray-Dickenson Post #59 will host its annual Wreaths Across America wreath-laying ceremony on Saturday, December 18th at 12 p.m. at the Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery on East St. All are invited to attend this special event that will be held on the same day as more than 2,500 similar wreath-laying ceremonies will be held across the U.S., at sea and abroad. Last year, more than 500 wreaths were placed by volunteers in Windsor.

Anyone may purchase $15 wreaths to be placed at the December 18th ceremony and all payments

Windsor Recreation & Youth Services will be conducting the Third Annual Deck the House: Holiday Light Contest this year! Winners of each prize will win Visa Gift Cards and bragging rights! Windsor Junior Woman's Club is collecting non-perishable food items, diapers/wipes and feminine products for the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank and new unwrapped toys for Project Santa Windsor! Kimberly Hall North hosts an Alzheimer's Support Group for anyone taking care of a loved one with Alzheimer's or a related dementia or if you would like to learn more about the disease. The group is open to both members of the community or those who have loved ones at Kimberly Hall.

Kate Bartelmo, is the support group leader she is a MSW, Certified Dementia Practitioner and has been running a support group for over 10 years. The group is affiliated with The Alzheimer's Association.
