Windsor Walk of Light

Windsor Walk of Light
In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the Town of Windsor will host a “Walk of Light” community remembrance ceremony on the historic Windsor Town Green from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, September 11, 2021.

Approximately 3,000 paper luminary bags, one for each individual who lost their life on September 11, 2001 will line the sidewalks of the green. Each luminary bag has been inscribed with the name of a person who perished on 9/11. The bags will be illuminated with glow sticks at dusk. A remembrance ceremony honoring our fallen heroes will be held from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

The Windsor Woman's Club will be selling large, beautiful Mums on the Windsor Green in front of the Eagle. The sale is from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Color choices are Red, Yellow, White, Purple and Bronze/Orange. All proceeds are used to support Windsor charities.

Kimberly Hall North hosts an Alzheimer's Support Group for anyone taking care of a loved one with Alzheimer's or a related dementia or if you would like to learn more about the disease. The group is open to both members of the community or those who have loved ones at Kimberly Hall.

Kate Bartelmo, is the support group leader she is a MSW, Certified Dementia Practitioner and has been running a support group for over 10 years. The group is affiliated with The Alzheimer's Association.

Join us at Brown's Harvest for Touch-A-truck on Saturday, September 11 from 10:00am - 2:00 pm. Fun for the whole family! You will be able to climb into the trucks, honk the horns and talk to the drivers.
Bring your camera for great photo ops! Also we will have food, Kona Ice, face painting and craft vendors.

Friendship Quilters Open House
Friendship Quilters is celebrating our 25th Anniversary with an open house on Thursday, September 9th from 6:30-7:30PM in the meeting room at the main branch of the Windsor Library.

We’ll have quilts on display, a table of free fabric, and you’ll have a chance to chat with our members. Non-quilters are welcome.
The open house will be followed at 7:30 by a brief meeting and plans for the coming year will be presented.

Regular meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of the month from September to June , 6:45-8:45 PM in the cafeteria of the L P Wilson Community Center.

Tickborne Illness Support Group
Voices Against Lyme Disease a 501(c)3, based in Windsor, CT is continuing their Support Group for those with a tickborne illness or a family member and friends. This group meets on the first and third Saturday of every month and is free to anyone wishing to join us. We use strict COVID 19 guidelines for our meetings. In addition, to support discussions we also provide up to date research information on tick borne illnesses, awareness and prevention.
