Newgate Farms is offering a ten week CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program for those who weren't able to commit to the eighteen week program.

This new ten week program will begin on Tuesday, August 24th and run thru Tuesday, October 21, 2021. The cost is just $300.00, paid up front. The Abigail Wolcott Ellsworth Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution is hosting a photo event at the Palisado Cemetery in Windsor to photograph the historic gravestones and memorials in the town’s oldest cemetery. Join a team of dedicated history buffs on Saturday, August 21, 9 am - 12 noon to photograph over 300 gravestones to complete the photo library on the Find-a-Grave website, a well-known resource for genealogists and historians. In the month of August, the town’s Health Department will be conducting at least 6 vaccination clinics. Walk-up clinics are being held on:
-Friday, August 13th from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM at Deerfield Park during the summer block party
-Tuesday, August 17th from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Wilson Library
-Tuesday, August 24th from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Windsor Library

Mobile COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic
The Windsor Health Department and Windsor Public Schools will be sponsoring a DPH Van: Mobile COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic on Thursday, August 5th and again on Thursday, August 26th. Through this partnership, the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available to Windsor residents in the community.

The Mobile Vaccine Clinic will be held at Windsor High School in the cafeteria from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Persons interested in getting a vaccine can simply walk-in for a vaccine, no appointment is required. In addition, the Pfizer vaccine may be used for you

STARTING in JUNE Every SUNDAY 11am-2pm • $20/hr (prepay online or at the door to instructor).

Have an art project you need materials and/or advice for? Stop into the studio classroom at the Windsor Art Center Train Station Studios during open hours to use the space and materials for your personal project, and receive guidance from local artist Michelle Hawran (if you wish!)

You MUST sign up at least a day in advance to ensure no more than 4 students will be in the classroom at one time. Each student will have their own table and sanitized materials, and masks are required. If you are feeling sick, please to do not attend.

Sunflower Festival & vendor Fair
Enjoy a day out on the Farm! Our 4th annual Sunflower Fest is an on farm experience of over 4 acres of sunflowers for your viewing pleasure. We plant over 20 varieties of sunflowers from 3' to 10' tall, from yellow to white, to deep red. Tickets include an optional hayride out to the field and one bloom per person, PYO (pick your own). You may also purchase additional blooms.

Explore the field, take photos and enjoy the beauty of it all.

Take a walk through the spiral labyrinth, adjacent to the "B" Barn and sunflower fields.

This well-attended local marketplace in Windsor Center includes locally grown fruits, vegetables, baked goods, herbs, eggs, cheese, skincare products, candles and more.

The Windsor Health Department is hosting a series of 6 Hypertension Workshops or High Blood Pressure Workshops. These workshops are scheduled over the summer and will be offered via Zoom. The dates and topics are listed below. In addition, each time you return the workshop evaluation and the Pre-Diabetes Risk Test, you will receive a $5 First Town Downtown Gift Card with a maximum of $30 awarded.
