Uncovering Their History Sunday, Feb 23, 2020
Sunday February 23 at 11:15 am, after worship, we will be joined by Professor Kathy Hermes from CCSU for a special Second Hour Program titled “Uncovering Their History: African, African American and Native American Burials in Hartford’s Ancient Burying Ground, 1640-1815.” The Ancient Burying Ground is Hartford’s oldest historic site and the only one remaining from the seventeenth century. From 1640 until the early 1800s, it served as Hartford’s primary graveyard. Dr. Hermes and her team unlocked the stories of the Native, African, and African American people buried here. |
