Zion Church is sponsoring its' annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration for the community on Monday, January 20, 2020, 2:00p.m.-3:30pm at the Windsor Town Hall Council Chambers, 275 Broad Street in Windsor, CT. The keynote speaker for this annual event will be Liana Jorgensen, Principal of Sage Park Middle School who has served as an educator and leader in the Windsor school district for over 17 years. Bring Gadgets to Geeks POSTPONED
Do you want be as savvy as your kids with your smart phone or tablet? Bring Your Gadgets to the Geeks at the Windsor Public Library any Wednesday. A Geek will patiently and clearly explain your device and answer your questions. You don’t need an appointment for this free service, drop in anytime between 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM and remember to bring any usernames or passwords that will help us work together successfully.

Please join us each month for coffee and conversation to promote information sharing, camaraderie, and education as to benefits and entitlements Veterans may be eligible for.

The Coffee Hour will be led by Wayne I. Rioux, Veterans Liaison for Hartford Health Care at Home. Wayne is an Army Vietnam Era Veteran and a retired Connecticut State Police Lieutenant. Wayne brings 6 years of experience in sharing information and assisting Veterans with benefits, entitlements, including financial assistance.
WHEN: 4th Thursday of each month, 8:30 AM.

Ever wonder about the days before you grabbed your bread slices from a plastic bag with twist ties, and opened a can of stew to heat on the stove? On Saturday, January 18th, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., historic foodways researcher and hearth cook Becky Hendricks will lead a special class on cooking breads and soups for six guests inside the Society's award-winning hands-on Strong-Howard House. The cost for the class is $35 per person, minimum age 12 years, limited to two attendees per family, and pre-reservations are necessary.
