Stan says, "I always wanted to open a computer store. I thought that was the coolest thing ever." Born in CT, Stan's family moved to Georgia when he was three. When he was five years old, his father had gotten him his first computer, a Tandy. Since then, Stan has always had a love of them. Even at a young age, Stan put some of his technical knowledge to use. "I even tried to fix them as they broke often, instead of getting them repaired." It's a skill he adds that you can't be taught in school, you simply have to dive in." Computers in any aspect were no part of the Gryskiewicz DNA. His father was a chemist at the Kimberly-Clark Corporation. His mother provided cleaning services. He attended college at Georgia Institute of Technology. During his junior year he had a choice to make, where he wanted to go once he had graduated. Stan notes, "Family has always been extremely important to me." He moved back up to Connecticut where he lived with his parents. Stan did computer consulting outside of the house. At around the same time the storefront in the theater plaza building opened up which had housed M Z Cleaners & Tailors at 290 Broad St. previously. Stan recalls, "I thought, 'what the heck? Let's open a computer store." That was the start of it all in January of 2002. They have since changed their address a few doors down to 296B Broad St. Starting a business of any kind has its challenges. Stan toughed the times with just enough money, a passion for what he did, and loving parents. "There are a lot of things you realize you have to do. I love the technical aspect of it. I love going out to customer sites and building relations with customers and fixing their things." Stan states, "I learned a whole lot about the whole retail aspect. I was very young and had very little knowledge, but picked up on things quick." PC Development Group has a lot of different services. They primarily focus on the customer, providing quality computer repair work while maintaining fair prices on and off-site, for businesses or personal use. PC Development's goal is for the customer to be satisfied with a product and doing so, provide the best service and advice by any of their helpful technicians. They have a retail store that provides customers with everything, from computer components to fully refurbished computers. When it comes to Windsor, Stan is heavily involved with the community. Upon moving here, he didn't know many people at all. One of the first things he got involved with was the Windsor Jaycees and Rotary Club of Windsor/Windsor Locks. Stan says, "I felt like I had been very lucky throughout my life, so I wanted to do whatever I could to give back." Now a family man with two children, Stan focuses more on kid-related activities. He currently serves on the board at St. Gabriel School. He works with the Cub Scouts as Assistant Cubmaster and treasurer. With the town itself, Stan loves everything about it. He says he and his family plan on staying here for a long time. He is also a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
