The spring rains are here, and Connecticut is beginning its slow return to "normal." This month, as we venture back into in-person activities, the Chamber has a lot of opportunities to learn, connect, and grow both online and in-person!

Come out Saturday morning, May 22 to stretch your legs and socialize in-person while doing good for the community by participating in our Wilson Walkability & Bikeability Audit! Or join the Windsor, Windham, and Southington Chambers online tomorrow morning for Chambers in the Morning networking. Check out the many other events and opportunities going on this month below!

Wilson Walkability Audit

We will be doing a walk/bike (and transit) audit of Wilson from the Hartford line to the Windsor Shopping Center. We'll meet at Sharshon Park at 11:00 and break into teams of 3-5 people. Bring the whole family for some low-impact exercise with a big impact on Wilson's success!

A walk/bike audit identifies the roads and intersections that are dangerous for pedestrians and bike commuters but can and should be safely walkable and crossable. Lunch and Learn: the Public Option

Connecticut Comptroller Kevin Lembo has unveiled legislation, currently before the state Senate, to allow businesses with 50 employees or fewer (and nonprofits of all sizes) to buy into the state's group medical plan, and provide additional state subsidies to make individual exchange plans more affordable. This plan has aroused controversy and passionate debate.

Local businesses and nonprofits now have a chance to hear from Comptroller Lembo, ask questions, and share their thoughts, by joining us for a Lunch and Learn with the Comptroller from 12-1 on Thursday, May 13!
