Windsor Chamber President, Paul Vagnini, welcomes Windsor's newest teachers
|
Every summer the Windsor Chamber of Commerce holds a welcome luncheon for teachers who are new to the Windsor school system. The new teachers hear about the strong partnership that exists between the business community and the educational community in Windsor. It's a great way for teachers, many of whom have recently moved to Windsor, to learn about the different businesses and cultural resources available to them in Windsor. For instance, the luncheon was held at Windsor Historical Society; a venue that many teachers find helpful as an educational backdrop for history lessons.
Windsor Chamber of Commerce members are welcomed to attend, meet and chat with the new teachers, introduce themselves to the group and contribute to the teachers' welcome packages. This year the packages included coffee mugs from CBT, notebooks from Costco, bags from Windsor Federal, candles from Partylite, market bags from FTDT, eyeglass cleaner from Primary Eye Care, tea from PaulaWalla.com, coupons from Spring Street Service Center and other items provided by Windsor businesses.
"We are pleased to welcome this group of exceptional teachers into our community," said Jane Garibay, Executive Director of the Windsor Chamber.
