The Town of Windsor is planning a celebration of Earth Day with activities, information and a clean up of areas in the Town. Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd, which is a Friday. This is a volunteer opportunity and a way to give back to the community and restore Mother Earth. We are seeking partners, either corporations/businesses or organizations to participate in the clean-up effort. The time commitment is 2 hours either in the morning (10:00-12:00) or the afternoon (1:00-3:00) to focus on an area in need of clean-up. For this community service activity, clean-up means choosing an area that has been designated, or suggesting an area not on our list and picking up trash. One area also requires repair of benches. We will provide bags and gloves for the task. We will also provide a vehicle to pick up the bags at the end of the time period. When the clean-up is finished we will photograph and weigh everything we have collected. Various Town departments and organizations including Planning, Northwest Park, and Healthy Community are developing this effort. A clean community is a healthy community. If your organization would like to join us in this effort, please contact Cyd Groff, Environmental Planner, at 285-1987. |
