We are pleased to announce that the Summer Internship Project will be offered to Windsor High School students again this year. Windsor Public Schools and the Windsor Chamber of Commerce, through the School/Business Partnership, are providing an innovative program this summer. The purpose of the Summer Internship Project is to place talented Windsor youth in business and industry to prepare them for higher education and the workplace. The program will identify students through a teacher recommendation process, provide classroom instruction in the "soft skills" critical to workplace success prior to placement and offer ongoing support to students through visits with a teacher mentor throughout the four weeks of the program. Our students offer skill sets in the following areas: Word and Excel Drafting and Pre-Engineering Child care Manufacturing Woodworking Graphics and Photography We need your help to make this project a reality. Classroom instruction in workplace skills is a start, but our students need to bring those skills into the 21st century workplace. For our program to be a success, we need business sites that can provide a 4 week paid internship for our students. Can you help shape the workforce of tomorrow?
