"I love being able to help good causes in town," said Embury. Konica Minolta prints Mary's Place's newsletter to about 2,400 addresses three times a year. Volunteers then fold them, enclose a return envelope and seal them for mailing. Ray also sends copy paper and colored paper for the kids to use as drawing paper. "The award is well deserved. A company is only as good as the people that work there. Ray is a great advocate for Windsor and its non-profits," said Jane Garibay, Executive Director of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce. Ray not only provides in kind donations of printing to Mary's Place but to the Windsor Chamber of Commerce, Alex's Lemonade Stand and a few other local causes. The "Ray of Hope" award started about four years ago at Mary's Place Gala to show appreciation for an individual who has shown an extraordinary contribution to Mary's Place. Ray was quick to say that the award should go to Konica Minolta not himself personally, but even his boss and good friend, Marshall Fox, General Manager of Konica Minolta's Customer Care Center, who was there to support him, knows that it's because of the kind of person Ray is that Konica Minolta donates so much to Mary's Place. Lisa Peluso, director of Mary's Place says, "Ray is the catalyst behind Konica Minolta's huge contribution to Mary's Place and we appreciate his dedication." |
