The Windsor Chamber sticks closely to its core mission of supporting local business, but it does so not only by providing networking events and seminars for businesspeople to strengthen their business connections, but also by planning entertaining and informative programs for the whole community. Bringing the community together with its business people is a win-win for Windsor. Some of the more inventive activities the Windsor Chamber of Commerce hosts: Seeds to Success (Green committee) is a series of informative lectures on organic gardening that brings local gardeners and restaurant owners together. Windsor Feud (Programs committee) is a live game show produced by the Chamber and the Town which is fun to watch and gives businesses the opportunity to showcase their fun side to the community. Businesses Fueling Minds Through Books (School to Business committee) brings business people and Windsor schools together to provide a learning opportunity for students and a chance for businesses to get to know the students and teachers. Chili Challenge (Programs committee) is one of the Chamber's major fundraising events and is enjoyed by thousands of people from Windsor and surrounding towns and states. Businesses get to sponsor a booth, cook their favorite chili recipe and connect with the public. These events are fun for the public, give our local businesses a unique way to interact with their customers, and sometimes to raise funds for the Chamber to keep its programs going strong. The Chamber has a great group of volunteers who help keep costs under control. The Chamber is a non profit organization and is vigilant about working as cost-effectively as possible. All of these events and more occur every year. More information can be found on the Chamber's website at www.WindsorCC.org or by calling 860-688-5165. |
