Every summer the Windsor Chamber of Commerce holds a welcome luncheon for teachers who are new to the Windsor school system. The new teachers hear about the strong partnership that exists between the business community and the educational community in Windsor. It's a great way for teachers, many of whom have recently moved to Windsor, to learn about the different businesses and cultural resources available to them in Windsor. The luncheon this year will be held at Northwest Park. Past locations have included the Windsor Historical Society and Oliver Ellsworth Homestead. Windsor Chamber of Commerce members help sponsor the luncheon, attend, meet and chat with the new teachers and contribute to the teachers' welcome packages. This year the packages include reusable bags from Windsor Federal Savings, calculators from ING, silver cleaning cloths from Ashley's Jewelers, samples from Tastefully Simple, bookmarks from Rabbett Insurance, notebooks from Konica and other items provided by Windsor businesses as well as information about the Town of Windsor and the Chamber of Commerce. "We are pleased to welcome this group of exceptional teachers into our community," said Jane Garibay, Executive Director of the Windsor Chamber.
