The auction supports the Windsor Chamber's many education, business and community programs to grow the local economy and improve the quality of life for the people of Windsor. It also benefits several Windsor non-profit organizations each year, which has resulted in funding of almost $600,000 over the auction's 30 year history. This year the auction will be supporting three Windsor non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations, in addition to the Chamber itself, Windsor Community Television, the Windsor Education Foundation and the Windsor Food and Fuel Bank. WIN-TV is the local non-profit community television station. Win-TV maintains a comprehensive video collection of the history of Windsor and the people who have lived here, provides video of current events, and gives voice to the community at large. With support from the Chamber and the community, WIN-TV has grown into a full blown community media center, broadcasting 24 hours a day, offering videos on demand and streaming live on the Internet The Windsor Education Foundation is an independent non-profit organization formed by Windsor citizens to support Windsor's teachers and students by funding original, creative, educational projects for Windsor kids. These innovative projects benefit large numbers of students with varying learning abilities, all without relying on the tax-funded school budget. The Windsor Food and Fuel Bank is a non-profit (501c3) organization of concerned private volunteer citizens. In partnership with Windsor Social Services and The Windsor Hunger Action Team, its mission is to make sure no person goes hungry, is cold, or is without basic necessities in Windsor. Last year the Windsor Food and Fuel Bank provided food for 500 households and home heating to 100 households in Windsor. The Windsor Chamber of Commerce is pleased to support these important and life-changing non-profit organizations through the annual auction, to be held this year on Friday, April 10th at Maneely's Banquet and Catering in South Windsor.
