“I am very honored to serve as President of this dynamic nonprofit organization and work with a dedicated group of volunteer Board members and Windsor Social Services staff as we continue to meet the needs of residents during this challenging time,” explains Joanna Gould. “We are immensely grateful to the hundreds of Windsor residents and businesses who have contributed to the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank by donating funds, products and other volunteer hours – especially during our recent Annual Appeal. We are fortunate to live in Windsor – a place where people really care about each other – particularly during the past two years,” she adds. “We look forward to the future and to helping even more of our neighbors if they need support.” Joanna Gould has worked in the banking industry for more than 15 years, and joined Windsor Federal Savings in 2015. She has served on the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank Board as Treasurer for six years, and has been involved with much of the organization’s community efforts and outreach. A member of the Windsor Junior Woman’s Club, Gould is involved in fundraisers for local charities on behalf of that organization and of Windsor Federal that include Foodshare’s Walk Against Hunger and the Windsor Shad Derby. She has a Bachelors degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics from Boston University. The Windsor Food & Fuel Bank is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in 1967 as the Windsor Community Service Council (WCSC). The all-volunteer Board, along with our partners at Windsor Social Services, works to accomplish our Mission of ensuring that no Windsor resident goes hungry, is cold, or is without basic necessities. The generosity of local individuals, businesses, civic and religious organizations provides for 95 percent of the WF&FB’s annual operating budget. If you are a Windsor resident and not a current client of the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank but find yourself in need of food assistance, call the Windsor Social Services office at 860-285-1839, Mondays through Fridays.
