Hartford/Windsor Marriott Unveils “Marriott Modern” Hotel Renovations
The Hartford/Windsor Marriott, located just six miles from Bradley International Airport, managed by Pyramid Hotel Group, has completed their year-long renovation process to become the most “Marriott Modern” Hotel in Connecticut. The renovation of the guest rooms, first floor amenities, lobby, and great room, as well as the addition of the M Club, and Reverend’s Bar & Kitchen, has positioned the hotel as the premier meeting destination North of Hartford, boasting over 12,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. The hotel renovations were completed by Norr Architects and MBA Reno Architecture & Interior Design.

The newly updated accommodations was revealed to local businesses at an event on August 31st in partnership with the Windsor Chamber of Commerce.

“Our team of associates are excited about the hotel’s rejuvenation and are eager to share our completed new look with our guests and the community,” said Michael Trosin, General Manager. “Designed to inspire, our new look is everything you love about Marriott, with a modern twist."

Great Room
The main entrance of the hotel was upgraded to include a new guest check-in area that features rare marble harvested from the rainforest and a unique, eye-catching chandelier. The great room was modernized with the intention of becoming a place to unwind, enjoy live entertainment, and dine, and also features seating options to accommodate groups of all sizes. The hotel also added the M Club Lounge which offers Marriott Rewards members an exclusive and complimentary place to recharge and connect 24/7. The M Club Lounge allows members to enjoy an extended food menu, a customizable Starbucks coffee machine, and Wi-Fi access with wireless printing. The modern décor throughout the Great Room, including a one-of-a-kind teakwood wall, areas of exposed brick, and eye-catching furnishings, is reminiscent of a contemporary art exhibit and creates a unique atmosphere for guests to enjoy.

Guest Rooms
Three Guest Rooms and four Junior Suites were added to the now 302-room hotel. Each room was transformed to create a modern and refined atmosphere that elicits relaxation while also serving as a functional work space. All rooms now feature new furniture and fixtures, as well as a mini-fridge to provide additional comfort, peace of mind, and amenities to guests. To increase the home away from home feel, the rooms are also equipped with Smart TVs that guests can connect to using their own video streaming accounts, including Netflix, Hulu, Crackle, Pandora, You Tube and TED/Marriott. The bathrooms in the redesigned King Guest Rooms have been converted from tubs to walk-in shower stalls with spa-like rainfall showerheads to add to the rejuvenating experience.

Reverend’s Bar & Kitchen
The brilliantly-designed, contemporary restaurant fuses the mouthwatering taste of regional flavors with the culture of the community. Menu items were inspired by the area’s rich history and give guests from near and far a glimpse into living in Connecticut. Several of the crafted cocktails get their names from the past, including the Palisado Avenue Sipper – a combination of rye, angostura bitters, and ginger beer – which refers to 747 Palisado Avenue in Windsor, Conn. where the Oliver Ellsworth Homestead is located. The menu also boasts a collection of carefully selected local wine and craft beer, including varieties from Stonington Vineyards, Hopkin Vineyards, Thomas Hooker Brewery, Stony Creek Brewery, Two Roads Brewing Co, and Thimble Islands Brewing Company. When it came to food, Executive Chef, Emmanuel Brathwaite, looked to his surroundings to spark creativity in the kitchen. Brathwaite even put a Connecticut touch on their pizza offerings by including ‘apizza,’ a Neapolitan-style pizza that is a local favorite common to New Haven. The menu also includes unique bites like Guacamame, a spin on guacamole made with edamame, and newly-developed signature items such as Po’ Boy Banh Mi Handhelds, Ancient Grain Salad featuring quinoa and kale, and Chicken and Andouille Rice Bowls.

Meeting Space
Eleven meeting rooms offer 11,000 square feet of flexible meeting space that includes extra-comfortable seating, state-of-the-art technology, onsite audiovisual capabilities, and high-speed wired/wireless internet. The Windsor Ballroom boasts 7,480 square feet and seats up to 500 guests for weddings, corporate meetings, and other private events and functions. The four renovated, professionally appointed boardrooms, offer technologically-advanced televisions equipped with audio and video connection capabilities making them an ideal meeting location for local corporations and businesses as well as traveling sports teams.

Fitness/Recreation
The heated indoor pool area was refurbished, complete with oversized lounge furniture to provide guests with a relaxing poolside experience. The fitness center is now equipped with state-of-the-art equipment by Life Fitness, including treadmills that have a virtual reality program so guests can walk or run on a scenic route of their choice.
