Scarecrows and Contests and Prizes, Oh My At Windsor’s Northwest Park Country Fair Put on your thinking cap and get creative. It’s time to start designing your scarecrow and collecting your supplies for the Northwest Park Country Fair Scarecrow contests. The Friends of Northwest Park have been planning for months. Now it’s your turn to get to work. Businesses are invited to compete for ribbons and bragging rights in the Windsor Business Scarecrow Competition. Build your scarecrow and display it at your business prior to the fair. The entry fee is just $35.00 and all contest revenue will be placed in a prize pool and awarded to the charity of the winners’ choice. Winners will be chosen by Fair visitors who will each receive a ticket to vote for their favorite scarecrow. Please contact Debby Reimer at 860-977-0247 for specific contest rules and to register as a participant. Families and Individuals may try their hand at winning a Blue Ribbon by participating in the Family & Individual Scarecrow Contest. Each entry must be made and assembled entirely by the participant(s) at the park on the day of the fair. Children may participate in the Mini-Scarecrow Contest. Building supplies and assistance will be provided to help youngsters make a scarecrow that can be taken home for display. Scarecrows will be judged and ribbons and prizes will be awarded. More information about these specific contests may be viewed on pages 34 & 35 of the 2016 (last year’s) Fair booklet which can be found online under “Friend’s Events” at www.northwestpark.org . We hope to see you at the Fair on Saturday, September 16. |
