Today, Amazon associates made a special surprise delivery to Poquonok Elementary in Windsor, CT. All 312 students received copies of the book The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind, which was selected by the school principal. Associates from Amazon's Windsor fulfillment center carried Smile boxes filled with books to teachers and students at an all-school assembly. "We are thrilled to be here to celebrate reading, Dr Seuss' birthday, and the Read Across America initiative," said Jeff Laurendeau, general manager of Amazon's local fulfillment center. "We love to give back to the community where we live and work, particularly when it means we are inspiring a love of reading in children." Following the assembly, Jeff visited a kindergarten classroom to deliver cupcakes and read Horton Hatches the Egg, a beloved Dr Seuss classic. |
