The purpose of this program is to assist student in gaining work experience so they can build their resumes and learn new job skills. This will make these students stronger candidates for future jobs. The employer gains an enthusiastic employee! The students will complete an application which included a recommendation from a teacher, official transcript and a career interest inventory. Accepted applicants will attend a 2-3 hour "Interview skills workshop" After the workshop interviews will be set up. Each employer will be sent 3 pre-screened applicants for each position and will select the student they want to hire. Once hired students will attend a 6-8 hour Employment skills workshop at the high school. After the employment skills workshop students will begin working. Employers would need to --commit to a minimum of 4 weeks of employment for each student and 20-40 hours per week. --Employers must be willing to pay at least minimum wage.
