Join us at Windsor Historical Society on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 at 2 p.m. to learn about the life and work of Evelyn Beatrice Longman, the first woman to gain full membership in the National Academy of Design. A woman with a tragic and difficult childhood, she managed to save enough money to get accepted into college and eventually the Art Institute in Chicago.  After graduating with honors in two years from the four-year program, she soon moved to New York City where she opened her own studio and her career took off. “Full Sap Moon Hike”

Come out to Northwest Park on Thursday, March 21st for a guided Full Moon Hike from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This moon was known to Native Americans as the “Full Sap Moon”, as it marks the time when maple sap begins to flow and the annual tapping of maple trees begins. If snow conditions permit, bring your own snowshoes or borrow ours. MUST preregister, space is limited. The cost is $10.00 Windsor resident, $15.00 non-resident. Each month during this hour, Jan, owner of Jan’s Sewing Room, will start by walking you through the basics (the library also has a standard machine to learn with). She will then dedicate the second half of the hour to troubleshooting your specific needs and questions.
