A Rare Historic Clock Finds A New Home at Elmwood in Windsor
The Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution and Christy Anderson Hendrie, State Regent, announced in February the acquisition of a rare historic clock, a thrilling development for friends of Elmwood, Windsor’s Oliver Ellsworth homestead that Connecticut DAR owns and manages. This clock has been in the Ellsworth family for over 225 years and was made by Oliver Ellsworth’s brother David. David was a well-known clockmaker, watch repairer, gunsmith, silversmith, and dentist.
