This 2017 Shad Derby event is sponsored by the Washington Lodge #70 A.F. & A.M. and will take place at the Masonic Lodge at 153 Broad Street, Windsor CT. on Friday April 28, 2017.

One of the tastiest and meaningful dinner night fundraisers in Windsor !!! A $25 donation gets you a delicious New England lobster meal with sides served by the Washington Lodge #70 A.F. and A.M. Masons !!! Great, economical night out for your family and friends in Windsor center !!!

Shad Derby Fish Sale Fundraiser
Every year the Windsor Chamber creates paper Shad Fish that are available for sale at local retailers for the public to support Windsor longtime traditional fair, the Shad Derby, with $1 donations.

You'll see these colorful fish on the walls of local establishments where they are available for purchase. Make a donation and write your name on a fish to be proudly displayed!

Available at Geissler's, Dom's Broad Street Eatery, Bart's/Beanery, Jim's Pizza, The Blue Dragon Fly, Windsor Federal Savings and WCC!

This program also support the Windsor Chamber of Commerce Community Programs

WDTC Fundraiser
Thursday, April 27 is the WDTC Preserve Windsor Fundraiser at Bart's at 5:30. Enjoy a delicious spaghetti and meatball dinner with salad and bread. Top it off with a hot fudge sundae (prepared by Willa and Carol). BYOB, water provided. There will also be some great raffle prizes: Wine Basket, Chocolate Basket, Restaurant Gift Cards, Weeding by Willa and more! Tickets will be 8 tickets for $5 so bring a little extra cash! There will be a raffle for just showing up for a lottery tree.

WOW! Art After School
This After-School Art Program is specifically for children ages 7 & up for some hands-on, interactive art making. Each student will be guided through a variety of art projects. Taught by the talented, Michelle Hawran, B.F.A.

Classes held each week: on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays of each week.

Classes Begin: Thursday, March 2
Ages: 7 and up
Cost: $30 for each day; per child
Materials: included
Where: Windsor Art Studios (Train Station) unless otherwise notified

Town Manager, Peter Souza and Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Craig Cooke will present information on the upcoming budget. Color Run at St. Gabriel School
St. Gabriel School will host its second annual My School Color Run on Sunday, April 30, 2017. The community is invited to run or walk this 1.5-mile, untimed course, throughout which participants will be doused in color. The color run begins at 2 p.m. at St. Gabriel School on 77 Bloomfield Ave. in Windsor. The event ends with a huge burst of color that should not be missed! Go to www.stgabrielMSCR.eventbrite.com to register by April 14, 2017, and receive a race bib, color packet and t-shirt for $13 (ages 12 and under) or $25 (ages 13 years and older).

Windsor Federal Savings will be holding a Free Shred Day on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Windsor Center “Loan” Office location, 270 Broad Street, Windsor Center
(Enter on Elm Street). Please Bring a Non-perishable Food item to Benefit the Windsor Food Bank!

Free to customers and the general public. There is a two box/bag limit per person; staples do not have to be removed but all documents must be taken out of folders and binders.

Join the staff at Northwest Park for a 6 week program which runs each Friday afternoon from April 21st through May 26th at 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM The “Jr. Farm Apprentice” program offers an opportunity for students ages 8-12 years old to experience a connection between raising healthy livestock, growing a variety of plants and eating well. Experience Spring on the farm at Northwest Park! Students will learn homesteading skills such as feeding livestock, collecting eggs, spinning wool, growing and harvesting vegetables and cooking. Archaeology in Windsor!
Last summer was full of excitement in Windsor as the Friends of the Office of State Archaeology working with Connecticut State Archaeologist Brian Jones utilized ground-penetrating radar to investigate the boundaries of the Palisade which surrounded the Palisado Green during the Pequot Wars. A filled-in and forgotten cellar on what had been Captain John Mason’s home-site was excavated, yielding straight pins, ceramics, clay pipe fragments architectural remnants such as lead window came, glass shards, and plaster, coinage, and food remnants such as salt water shellfish, and animal bones.
